FM Curling Annual Golf Tourney
This year’s humbling event will again be hosted at the ponderosa golf course (next to Buffalo State Park off Hwy 10 in MN) on August 9 . It will be an 18 hole tournament with a shotgun start kicking off at noon and should finish around 5pm with a meal to follow allowing ample time to still make it to the lake.
This year’s format will again be split into 2 nine hole rounds. The first round will be two person alternate shot followed by the second round of four person scramble (these will be covered in greater detail before we tee off). This will not be a handicapped event; the only handicap is the team you choose, so pick you team wisely!! For those of you that choose poorly, there will be a beverage cart on the course to ease the frustrations.
Team registration will be done soley online through our curling website. Due to the fact the course is only 9 holes we will have to limit the number of teams to 18 four person teams. Team registration will be open starting june 1st and will run through July 30th (unless it fills early). The entry fee for this wonderful event will be $200 per team. Each team’s $200 entry will cover 18 holes of golf per person, 2 two person carts, prizes (if you earn any) and a post golfing meal. For those of you that feel the need to cheat and use mulligans, there will be 1 mulligan per person per round for a nominal fee of $5 per mulligan (a bargain!!)
Good luck and good golfing??
Details:
When: August 9
Where: Ponderosa Golf Course
Entry fee: $200 per team (not including mulligans)
Includes: 18 holes of golf, cart, prizes and meal.
Any questions about the event or interest in sponsoring a hole/prizes (hint hint) please Feel free to email either Nathan Vetter or Steve Jacobson at natedoggor@yahoo.com or stevejacobson@cableone.net.

New Building Groundbreaking Ceremony

Friday, March 15, 2013
It is with great excitement that we can announce that the FMCC Board approved breaking ground on our new facility and we are moving forward with the construction! From what our contractors have told us, we are planning to be curling in our new facility by early November 2013.
We will be planning a formal ground breaking for our new facility in early April (once the ground thaws). Please watch the FMCC facebook page, FMCC website, and your email for a notification of the date and time for this event, it will be a BYOS (bring your own shovel).
For those that have pledged towards our new facility, we will be sending out letters with your total pledge amount and the amount of your first payment within the next few weeks. The first pledge payment will be due April 15th. If you have not pledged but would like to help out, pledge forms are available at the club or by clicking here.
As this will be our last season in our current facility, we are also planning a few wind-up activities. We will be having a one-day funspiel on Saturday March 30th where we will draw teams from a hat and curl in our current facility one last time prior to shutting the plant off ending this year's season. If you are interested in partaking in this event, please email us at fmcurling@gmail.com so that we are able to plan the format accordingly for this event based on the number of individuals interested.
Also, after our regular Spring Meeting on April 9th at 7 pm, which will include the election of 3 board members, we will celebrate the memories in our current facility and have one last "broomstacking" prior to closing the facilities formally for the season.
A very big thank you goes out to all of our members who have helped in the past or are currently working on our new facility campaign. This dream has been discussed during my entire tenure within the club and it is amazing to see if finally becoming a reality.
Interested in designing for Curling Olympic Team Trials?
The local organizing committee for the 2014 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Curling is requesting creative services of graphic designers in the Fargo-Moorhead area to design the overall branding of all print promotional materials for the Trials. The final “look” will be used for posters, brochures, ticket order forms and all other print materials. The exposure the “look” will receive is vast because the Trials are a national event. The overall branding design should represent the Fargo community, but have an overall American feel.
